The true wealth of life
Rajeshri Senapati Gogoi
O dwellers of the earth,
stop and reflect for a moment,
Is wealth really the true key to life?
Abundance and splendor are merely fleeting shadows,
Never let go of the place of good principles in your heart.
Money and riches exist today, but may be gone tomorrow,
Yet the dignity of good behavior never fades away.
Character and good conduct form a person's true identity,
It is humility that keeps a person alive, day by day.
If the tone of your words is sweet and gentle,
Even in a stranger's heart, a green abode of love will bloom.
Harsh words shatter many bonds of affection,
Let peace and tranquil vibrations echo in your speech.
The greatest jewel to possess is deep respect and devotion within the heart,
It is this that gives people the strength to cherish one another.
Honor, hospitality, and reverence reveal the wide doors of the heart,
Bringing a pure stream of harmony into society.
The pride of luxury brings only the fire of arrogance,
While courtesy cradles society in a soft bed of love.
Money can never buy the true affection of the heart,
Politeness alone establishes the lasting tradition of genuine respect.
So do not make the mistake of chasing only after wealth,
Good behavior and respect are life's truest offerings.
A noble voice is far greater than the pretension of elite status,
It heals the emptiness that precious gems can never fill.
For eternity, only a person's good deeds remain,
Dignity and devotion are the true religion of humanity.
